Please join us for the 5th Annual Cottonwood Holiday Contra Extravaganza on Saturday December 20 in Cottonwood; come alone or with friends, no experience needed! Contra dancing is moving, active, aerobic exercise.. it's dancing to live traditional fiddle music (such as jigs and reels...) as a caller teaches and calls each dance. This month's special Holiday dance features the driving sounds of "The Privy Tippers" (fiddle, mandolin, bass and guitar) from Tucson, and the calls of Flagstaff's Deb Comly with special guest Kris Kontra Kringle. We'll have mistletoe-tapping contra dances to light up your heart and nose, yummy snacks and oodles of chest-nutty activities to fire up the evening. A potluck dinner is at 5:30, the pre-dance lesson is at 6:30, with dancing from 7:00 until 10:00. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, and feel free to dress in your holiday duds. $8 per dancer for this special dance. The Cottonwood Civic Center, 805 Main Street, Old Town Cottonwood.
