Cottonwood Parks & Recreation’s
10K/2 Mile Race

Saturday, April 19, 2008
Riverfront Park
Races Start at 8:15 am

The stage is set for another exciting and challenging race at the Riverfront Park picnic area off of North 10th Street in Cottonwood. Runners gather on the cool grass then race through the winding scenic roads of Dead Horse Ranch State Park taking in the enchanting Verde River Riparian Area.

Pre-registration begins Wednesday, March 5 and runs through Wednesday, April 16. Pre-registration entry fee is $15 per adult and $12 per youth under 18 years. The first 100 registrants receive an event T-shirt on race day. Race-day registration is from 6:45 to 7:45 am. Fees are $17 for adults and $14 for youth after the April 16 deadline and on race day. All racers must be checked in by 8:00 am. Gun goes off at 8:15 am for both 10K and 2 mile runners.

Stay after the race for loads of door prizes and distribution of awards. A pair of running shoes goes to the winners in both the overall male and female categories of the 10K. Custom medallions are awarded to the top three male and top three female runners in each age group for both races. A $100 prize will be awarded to the fastest runner who breaks the course record. Free refreshments and after-race massages provided by students of Arizona School of Integrative Studies.
