TROOPER DOESN'T BUY DRIVER'S 108-MPH EXCUSE
Full Description:
A Yavapai County Sheriff's Deputy heard a whopper of an excuse for really, really speeding yesterday.
The deputy used his radar gun to clock a Mercury Sable going 108 miles an hour on Highway 89 near Ash Fork. Sheriff's spokeswoman Susan Quayle says the deputy gave chase and eventually pulled over 18-year-old Leonel Flores Flores of Ash Fork.
When the deputy told Flores how fast he had been going, Quayle says he looked as his dashboard. Then Flores looked up and explained that his speedometer only went up to 85.
