Full Description:

World War II forever changed Arizona.

One could argue the state was not truly "discovered" until the early 1940s when the U.S. military began sending personnel to the dry desert climate to train for oversees combat.

Prior to the war, Arizona was a sleepy, rural state, dominated economically by three major players, agriculture, mining and cattle ranching. Their economic dominance also translated into political power.

The triumvirate of Copper, Cattle and Cotton was king and held sway over every major issue that made its way to the legislature.
